Asus P5GD2 Premium Motherboard

Strengths: Worked right out of the box ++ very fast ++ very stable if moderately OC'd (did OC my P4 550 LGA775 from 3.4>3.9 GHz *easy*, even w/ just 512MB DDR2 RAM) ++ Great & easy-to-use OC software etc. etc..

Weakness: none

As already mentioned in the "Strenghts" section, this MoBo is awesome!! I used it to build my first PC, and I never had any problems. However, don't use it with the Thermalright XP-120, P4 Retention Bracket & standard screws that come with the HSF/P4 RB - because the tightness/tensions of the bracket when screwed on will kill your Motherboard!! Well, this actually is not the MoBo's fault, but Thermalrights... The P5GD2 was AWESOME as long as it lasted, and I am right now looking to buy my 2nd one, which is a "No-Brainer" decision! GO, GET IT Yourself!! ~~ Cheers, Armin

Asus P5GD2 Premium Motherboard

Strengths: best mobo ever

Weakness: none

This mobo improves off of the 478 p4p and p4c in design and placement of capacitors and the chipset. The fanless design is awesome. With the new AI Proactive technology, this card has amazing automation of bios settings, especially for anyone intereseted in overclocking. Manual overclocks should be a thing of the past, this mobo can keep everything regulated and under control at the highest possible settings.

Asus P5GD2 Premium Motherboard

Strengths: None - never worked.

Weakness: Could not find out.

Board was purchased in december. Had 3 different computer companies try and get it to work but it never posted. Board was sent to Asus and they shipped back another defective board. Had to have board replaced with one from another company.

High Performance at a Low Cost

Strengths: -automated bios settings are very nice and make overclocking a far more accessible task -sheer number of features and slots make for a very expandable board -fanless design is a very nice touch

Weakness: -another normal PCI slot would've been nice

The Asus P5GD2 Premium is a fantastic motherboard for the price. It comes with just about any feature you could ask for and then some. The PCB stack cooling system is a very good idea especially since there's a high likelyhood of people (like myself) putting in a toasty Prescott CPU in there. Built in wireless is wonderful, the selection of ports is excellent, and it comes with pretty much every PCI port device you could want. This board is ready for the hardware of the future with it's PCI express 16 and 1 slots and generous 4 slots of DDR2 RAM. RAID support is excellent. All in all the P5GD2 is an extremely robust motherboard package and highly recommended to anyone looking to make the leap into the next generation of computing.
