Great CPUStrengths: Extremly fast, easy to install, Clock speed for a dual core Weakness: runs a little hot Recently replaced my old pentium 4 for this baby and the diference is amzing. I am currently using multiple video softwares and it does not even blink. If you are going to be using this alot I recommend a case with extra fans to keep the temp down as well as an aftermarket heatsink. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Great ProcessorStrengths: speed and dual core Weakness: Runs a little hot but got rid of the Intel cooler and added a Zalman 9500. Keeps the temps in a good range. Don't do all that much gaming but my grandson does and he loves it. Use a e-geforce 6800 card for his games. I like the dual core feature which allows me to run multiple programs. It's good and now that the price has dropped it's a excellent value 50% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Smithfield ok
Strengths: Has high core clock speed. Compatible with many motherboards. Runs ddr2
Weakness: Runs fairly hot. Heatsink pretty heavy so use beefed up mounting instead of oem supplied for confident heatsink operations.
Because of the high temps reported I was a little reluctant at first to try a smithfield over a presler.
I also have dual processor amd chips I run but the 840d has a very high core clock speed which works well for a program I wrote.
Dual core amds can best dual core intels except in core clock speed and price.
By price and clock speed it gives the most performance for the lowest dollar amount....its a good deal.
