ATI Radeon X1800 XT Video Card

Excellent Video Card

Strengths: Installed easily and runs flawlessly.

Weakness: Card is a bit long. Takes up 2 slots.

Have used numerous ATI and Sapphire ATI cards and they just keep getting better. Easily overclocked to 670 and copper heatsink keeps card running cool. Smooth video performance and games play great. Very pleased and recommend this card.

Best 512 GPU for the Price!

Strengths: Price! ATI Support! Power! Quiet! Supports SM 3.0

Weakness: ATI auto overclock works poorly. Not a master Crossfire card! 256 Memory BUS! AVIVO!

I bought this card to max out all the graphic settings on every game that I own and they all work flawlessly! Over 9k on 3dMark05 without tweaking. This card isnt a master croosfire card which is a negative due to the cost. right now this is the best performance for the cost 512 GPU on the market. Check the ATI site for the massive resolution it supports.

Awesome

Strengths: Fixed Loud fan from X850, loudest is at start up and only at start-up wicked Fast, Very Stable, hasn't crashed on me

Weakness: none, except for dual slot cooler, but i like ruby on that card

I swear this card is quiet even when stressed to the max unlike the X800's and X850's. In my Silverstone TJ-06 case /window ruby is looking right at me, since the card is flipped 180 degrees. I tell you my computer (currently P4 650 3.4Ghz 2MB cache, 2X256MB DDR2 4-4-4-12 533 Mhz RAM dual-Channel, on Intel D955XBK Mobo) scored a 5538 at 1024X768 with full anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering, despite some of the crappy specs. so you know i didn't OC yet, and plan to go crossfire, the 512MB card rules. 1GB of GDDR3 RAM in crossfire!

A monster, in more than one way

Strengths: Very fast clock speeds, easy overclocking (I can get mine up to 680/775 with no hiccups), the extra ATI quality/performance settings.

Weakness: Size and heat, but that's to be expected from such a monster of a video card. Be prepared to rearrange your hard drives to get it to fit. Temps: 58c idle, 70c full load.

Amazing graphics, amazing performance. I paid 200 for it at a CompUSA that is closing down here in Torrance, California, and I might add that it was the very last one they had in stock. With that price, it went quickly.

I can't emphasize enough how much space it takes up. Even in my very large computer case, I had to move some cables around and move my hard drive out of the way.

Knowing in advance that it was a floor heater, I bought an Antec Vcool video card fan module that slides in to 2 expansion ports to blow outside air onto the card, to help cool it down, plus an extra 80mm fan.

Powerful, extreme performance

Strengths: 512 megs of GDDR3 RAM, super fast performance, not as hot as one would think (65c under full load, which is what I got on my old AGP nVidia 6600 256 meg), overclocks beautifully.

Weakness: Size is the only weakness. It is almost twice as long as my older video card. If you are building a new computer, you had better make PLENTY of room for it. And it is a bit heavy, secure it tightly.

I bought this card for 2 benjamins at a closing-out sale, so the price/performance ratio is the best I will ever get, unless there's another closing-out sale. I can overclock it all the way up to 690/1600 MHz no problem. Runs all of my games with max quality settings and 1280x1024 resolution without a problem, and get anywhere from 40-180 FPS, depending on the game and environment. It won't dip...

Runs all of my games with max quality settings and 1280x1024 resolution without a problem, and get anywhere from 40-180 FPS, depending on the game and environment. It won't dip below 40 FPS guaranteed, unless you try your hardest to make it do so.
