Great card but extremely noisy

Strengths: Dual DVI, video quality.

Weakness: Extremely loud fan.

All in all, my opinion is that this is a good card that packs a lot of punch considering its price. I am pleased with its video performance, however, the card's fan is outrageously and unacceptably noisy when the card is under load. When I say outrageously and unacceptably noisy, I mean, I can hear the fan spool up and start howling when I'm watching a movie and wearing headphones. The fan noise...

Excellent card for the price.

Strengths: Very fast card for the price. It costs just about 140 now. If you want any thing faster than this would be a 8 series, which is being priced in the $300-400 range. 2 DVI. Rather good fan and heat sin.

Weakness: Fan is a bit noisy and I have a $70 rebate on this card waiting to come in.

I first was looking at the 7600, but after a bit research, found out the 7900 is actually much better deal. Just about 30 bucks more now, you get some major difference.

Fast but not too loud

Strengths: Mindblowing speeds, price, VIVO connector included, fan speed control, power adapter included.

Weakness: None so far

I got this at $80 after rebate and could not be happier with my purchase. I upgraded from a Geforce 6800 and this card is light years ahead. The details are absolutely amazing and fluid. I have tried this on a few games and run at max resolution with no issues. This card actually fit in my case a little better than the 6800 it replaced as its smaller. It also included a power adapter for its...

eVGA GeForce 7900 GS KO

Strengths: EVGA warranty, EVGA StepUp program, silent when on the desktop and not playing videos, factory overclocked, fan looks pretty nice, inexpensive (after rebates, it was around $150)

Weakness: Free game that is advertised on the box isn't actually inside, fan gets loud when playing games

I won't go into the NVIDIA 7900GS card itself since there are many reviews on the internet on the card in general. It lies between the 7600GT and the 7900GT in terms of general performance. The card was a breeze to install, as are all PCI-E video cards. The only thing is that it still wobbles a little bit since the screw on the case won't go all the way down to secure it. It may be on the fault...

RMA'ing for another one

Strengths: Speed. 256bit memory.

Weakness: Runs hot, and apparently there have been known bad batches of these.

When it worked, I liked it. I'm RMA'ing it through EVGA for a replacement (which I hope will be another because I did really like it when it worked). I plan to write another review when I have a working card. This is fair warning; if you find one, be careful because they run hot. This is of particular note if you get one second hand, and has been OC'd.

Dual DVI = sweeeet

Strengths: Dual DVI (of course), fast fast fast, stayed relatively cool

Weakness: Unfortunately the temperature being low came at the price of a pretty loud GPU fan

Overall I am quite pleased with this graphics card. I previously owned a GeForce 6600 and this one outperforms the 6600 considerably. The dual DVI setup is a real plus, I just wish I had enough DVI monitors to fully utilize them ($$$). I'm not sure if others have had this problem but the fan on my card is quite loud, which may just be a defect or due to the fact that the fan is so small and is...

BFG 7900GS OC

Strengths: Price

Weakness: fan

I have just received this card and installed it in my new system. So far it seems very fast, but I have not stressed it yet. The fan, as I have heard is a lost cause, in terms of both cooling and noise level. I did not even give it a chance, and installed a Zalman on it.

Wow

Strengths: Easy installation. Quite operation.

Weakness: none

The temperature for me idle is like 40. I believe some people pointing out the heating. for me it's like 39-41 at load (it's really weird) because the load and idle are virtually the same. Just my 2 cents.
