I have used P4 in the 485 package in the 2.8 GHz range with no problems. I liked the heatsink and fan and the way it attaches to the motherboard better in this format than 485's

Far more speed than Celerons, for...
Strengths: Very fast & stable.
Weakness: Heat. (Something you can't avoid with these fast chips though.)
Far more speed than Celerons, for only a few bucks more. Good fast, stable chip! The LGA775 chips are easy to install and the included fans work very well. No need for an aftermarket fan.

Weakness: It's a little hot when it's running
I chose the LGA P4 HT CPU for my new desktop which I built by myself. It's new structure from Intel for the process in the future. It's very easy to install the CPU fan, but also hotter than Socket 478 CPU becuse the voltage rise from 79W to 93w, so you should add more fans than before to make sure your computer work very well.

I have always owned Intel Pentium chips and this one so far is the fasted. Easy to install, and comes with the heatsink/fan. From initial install into a new motherboard, the system was ready to go!

Great Product
Strengths: Fast, Hyperthreadin is great and easy to turn on.
Weakness: Noisy
Great buy at the cheap price. I use it for a Linux Server that hosts my external website and it works great. Recommended as a buy. I will probably buy another one for my next desktop.
