Not bad chip

Strengths: Very nice and fast chip. HT is wonderous though I'm hearing it may not be used as much in future technology. Guess because of dual cores.

Weakness: Too pricey runs a tad warm nut not too bad.

All the chips have come down in price so if I had bought them at these prices then this rating would go up one star. Not a bad product. Unfortunately I didn't try to OC.

Excellent Processor

Strengths: Fast! This a great processor if you are upgrading your system.

Weakness: Runs hot

I would recommend purchasing an aftermarket fan/heatsink. This baby runs hot! It's a great cpu for those who like gaming. I would recommend this cpu to everyone who is upgrading their system.

Strengths: socket 775 is better, no pins, VERY COLD

Weakness: none

i wish my other system was also a 775, because it stays soooo cold compared to the 478. 17 C on load (watercooled). Awesome performer and overclocks nicely and smoothly. no reason to get a 478 unless the mobo is. the no pin design is very nice as well.

This processor rocks. I have it paired with with an Intel Desktop Board D915PCY and 1gig ram, and it runs great. I also have a GeForce6600 graphics card. I can run World of Warcraft with all options set on full with absolutely no slowdown. My only concern is that it runs hot... as high as 65C in some cases. I plan to get a better heatsink and fan though. Make sure you have an adequate power...

Strengths: Fast. 3.4 GHz, 800MHz FSB. Overclockable.

Weakness: Websites say this processor has a poorer architecture and games are better played on an AMD. Pricey - paid $279. Motherboards made with this processor only accept PCI Express video cards, not AGP.

I am extremely pleased with the performance of this processor (so far anyway; only had it 10 days). Matched it up with an ABIT Duramax AA8 motherboard in a Thermaltake Tsunami Dream case. The new bios for this motherboard allows the processor's FSB to be boosted from 800MHz to 1066MHz! I replaced the stock heatsink with a Gigabyte Rocket Pro cooler. My CPU temps average 37 degC idle and about 48...
