Beautiful monitor worth the price

Strengths: Size...this thing is huge! The color on this monitor is the best that I've seen. The on-screen controls are easy to navigate and use.

Weakness: The stand although very sturdy does tilt the screen about 3/8 of an inch down to the left

I bought this monitor for two purposes. Firstly I needed a high quality monitor with great color for graphics and photoshop work. The far secondary purpose was for watching movies. I'm happy to say that the 275t does both of these fantastically. The screen is big enough to multitask by having two windows open simultaneously and the color and crispness of the picture make it easy to do work. Its also great for movies because you can be 15 feet away and still watch comfortably. Also the 1920 x 1200 resolution works nicely for this size screen...text is easy to read and not too small.

Overall I would highly recommend the 275t if you are looking for a monitor this size and will be using it for more than just surfing the web and email. This has the best looking screen I have seen on any size monitor.

BBM (Big Beautiful Monitor)

Strengths: Size (of course), Great image, Very bright, Solid base, Easy to adjust, Good text, Tilt, Height adjustable, Swivel, 3yr warranty, Wide viewing angle. No need for high end graphics card.

Weakness: No portrait, No HDMI, No speakers, Need to sit back from the monitor at least 30 inches, Dot pitch might be a little large for someone who uses VERY small text.

Let me say upfront that I received this monitor a couple of days ago and have absolutely NO buyer's remorse whatsoever. I have it connected via DVI to my laptop's mini dock and it works great. In fact, a big selling point for me was that it is the largest monitor that would run off my laptop, which has a decent (but not top of the line) dedicated nvidia video card. At basically $900 I believe it was money well spent. However, given that comparable 24 inchers are selling for about 60% of the price, I can understand someone not wanting to pay the premium. Personally, I decided to splurge, in part because I plan to use it to watch movies (it is larger than my TV).

I've never been able to work effectively with multiple windows/programs until now. Today I had a word doc, a pdf, and a web browser open all at once and could actually work comfortably. While a 24 inch has the same resolution, the size of the windows would have been smaller and less comfortable.

I think the text looks great, though some people may be concerned because the dot pitch is higher than a 24in (see the review by xbitlabs for more on this). As long as you sit more than 2 feet away (and you must if you want to see the whole screen), I really can't imagine anyone having a problem with the text quality.

BTW, the manual has a mistake: It claims the monitor can be rotated, but it cannot. So don't expect to use portrait mode even if your video card will allow you.

In sum, if you can afford to treat yourself, then do it. Chances are you'll have the monitor for at least four years, which is just $20/month. However, make sure you have enough space because this thing is huge!
